Our verdict

Owlie extracts a YouTube video's transcript, then lets you ask about it, get a summary, or search for specific keywords, with each sentence in the transcript clickable to jump straight to that timestamp. Because YouTube has made automated transcript access harder, expect an occasional delay on the first message and some outright failures. It doesn't remember earlier questions in the same session, so every question stands alone rather than building on a conversation, and it's a small donation-supported project rather than a funded product.

✓What it does well

Video Q&AYou can ask direct questions about a video's spoken content and get an answer.
Clickable transcriptClicking any transcript sentence jumps the video to that exact timestamp.
Keyword searchIt can search a video's content for specific keywords or phrases.

✕Where it falls short

No memory across questionsEach question is answered fresh, without any memory of what you asked before it.
Transcript extraction can failYouTube's own restrictions cause occasional delays and failures, not a guaranteed instant result.
Small donation-run projectIt's maintained by a single developer on donations, not a funded company with dedicated support.
