Three worth starting with
DeepNude was a 2019 app that faked nude photos and was shut down within days after public outcry. The name is now used by many unrelated apps that generate nude images. Most of them have nothing to do with the original, and quality and privacy vary widely between them.
Questions people ask
Is the original DeepNude app still available?
No. The original DeepNude was withdrawn by its creator in 2019. Apps using the name today are unrelated products, and downloads claiming to be the original software often carry malware.
Is it illegal to make deepnudes of real people?
In many countries, yes. The UK, the US and several EU countries have laws against creating or sharing sexual deepfakes of real people without consent, with fines and prison sentences.
What should I do if someone made a deepnude of me?
Save evidence, report it to the platform, use StopNCII.org to block the image on major sites, and report it to the police. In the US you can also request removal under the Take It Down Act.
