Can AI generate a finished 3D model from a photo or prompt?

It can produce a usable starting mesh, but rarely a finished asset. Image-to-3D tools such as Imgto3D.ai create geometry and textures quickly, yet topology, UV layout and fine detail usually need manual cleanup in Blender or similar software before the model is ready for a game engine.

Which file formats should an AI 3D tool export?

Look for GLB, FBX or OBJ export at minimum, since these open in Blender, Unity and Unreal. Some generators only offer a web viewer or a proprietary format, which suits concept exploration but is awkward when you need to rig, animate or hand the model to a client.

Are AI-generated 3D models safe to use in commercial projects?

That depends on each tool's licence terms, which differ widely. Check whether commercial use is allowed, who owns the output and whether the training data could cause problems for your client. For game or client work, read the terms before importing anything into a project you will ship.
