The key caution is verification: summaries can misstate results or invent references, so check every claim against the source before citing it.

General chatbots sometimes do, producing references that look real but do not exist. Research-focused tools that link to indexed papers lower the risk, but you should still open each cited source and confirm the claim appears in it.
It depends on your institution and the journal. Many allow AI for language editing or search with disclosure, while banning it for generating text or analysis. Read the relevant policy, and never list an AI tool as an author.
