Business Intelligence

Three worth starting with

Business intelligence tools collect company data from sales, finance and operations and present it as dashboards, reports or answers to plain-language questions. The listings here lean toward prospecting and sales-intelligence add-ons, including Enlyft and ProspectPro. Before choosing, find out whether a tool analyses your own records or supplies outside market data, because the two serve different questions.

Questions people ask

What is business intelligence in simple terms?

It is the practice of turning company data into figures people can act on, such as sales by region or churn by month. BI tools gather the data, clean it and show it in reports, so decisions rest on numbers instead of memory.

How is business intelligence different from data visualization?

Data visualization is one part of BI, the charts and dashboards. Business intelligence also covers collecting, joining and modelling the data behind them. If you already have clean data and only need charts, a visualization tool is enough.

Can an AI BI tool answer questions in plain English?

Many can, by turning a typed question into a database query. The answer is only as good as the underlying data and its labels, so check results against a known figure first. Vague column names are a common cause of wrong answers.
