Terms to know
Team collaboration tools connect people and apps through chat helpers, translation bots, call tools and automation, with Zapier, Boom AI and Line App Translator Bot as examples. They matter most for remote or multilingual teams. Look at where the tool sits in your workflow and what data it sees, since chat extensions can read every message on the page.
Zapier connects apps so an event in one triggers an action in another, without anyone present. A chat extension acts inside a page while a person works, for example translating or drafting replies. One automates between tools, the other assists in them.
They can be a risk, because an extension that reads a page can see sensitive messages. Ask IT before installing, review the permissions, and prefer tools with clear data policies. Some tools exist specifically to mask private data before it goes to an AI model.
Collaboration is how people talk and share, through chat, calls and files. Project management is how work is tracked, with tasks, owners and deadlines. Teams that mix them up end up with decisions buried in chat and no record of who does what.
